What do I think my child would look like?

My traits are that I am full filipino. I have black hair, straight hair, a normal nose I think, black eyes, a free earlobe, a full lip, no dimples, no freckles, and thick eyebrows but not that thick. I got these traits (characteristics) from my Mom and my Dad and this is how I look like now as a 12 year old boy. Both of my parent's heredity were passed on to my brother and me. But the weird part is that we my brother an I do not look like at all.

As I look like right now, my child would look like half me and the the real mom if I had sexual intercourse with. My child would look like half of me and half the birthmom. For example, if my child's birthmom was full filipino, my child would be full filipino too. But if my child's mom was a mix person such as filipino and spanish, my child would be fifty percent spanish and fifty percent filipino. As if the child would look like, it would depend of who has the dominant trait and the recessive trait and the baby would look half as us in human form. In this picture I was in the philippines with my brother. But I was in the 4th grade and 9 years old.

Dominant or Recessive

Dominant is a trait that always shows up in a organism (the "strong" trait) and Recessive is a trait that is hidden when a "strong" one is present (the "weak" trait). Every organism has traits that are dominant and recessive so dont think you look like that you born magically. Thank your parents that you look like the way you are. There characteristics (traits) made you the way you look right now.

My traits from my Mom and my Dad so I look like them halfway. My parents both have black eyes so it is total 100 percent that I get black eyes too. And also that my Mom and Dad have straight hair so I get straight hair too. When you want to predict the traits of an offspring (babies) you need to use a punnett square. And when a trait changes by radiation, a virus, or chemicals is called mutation.

Inherited Social Behavior

Social Behavior is behavior that members or people of the same group do together. You can inherit many family or friend activities in life. But sometimes you might do good things or bad things. Example of social behavior is like fishes clumping together, monkeys cleaning out each others monkey hair, wolves travel in packs and mountain gorillas traveling in troops and oldest leading the group. Inherit means something you get from your parents.

When I inherit social behavior from my parents, I might start to like it or maybe not. Like I had cook food for the whole family at dinner time and my Dad taught me how to cook food such as korean chicken and other food. But we still eat filipino food because we are filipino and my parents were born in the philippenes. And my Mom taught me how to cook pancit which is filipino noodles. I am more closer too my Dad so I help him with many things around the house. I help my mom too. So it is learnful to see how my Mom and my Dad do many things and inherit social behavior.

My family traits

Traits are the characteristics you get from your parents. My Mom and my Dad are both full filipino so that will mean I am full filipino too. My parents were born in the Philippines but lived in different places. My Dad was raised in Baliuag and my Mom lived in Clavera Cacynna.

My Mom and Dad have black hair so I have black hair. I look mostly like my Dad so that means my Dads traits were mostly stronger(dominant) than my moms genes. My brother has more of my Moms traits such as how there skin color match. Traits are important cause you look like half of your Mom and Dad as a human person so be happy with yourself on how you look like and your parents traits from what culture they came from.

Why is understanding Heredity important?

Heredity is the passing of human characteristics to offspring so its important because it is how you look like from your parents genes from DNA. Your genes can be dominant(strong) with your traits or you can get a recessive(weak) trait. And you start to inherit traits from your parents. Which you get your characteristics from.

In the egg from Mom and the sperm from Dad, they each carry 23 chromosomes(46 in total). Each chromosomes holds DNA and each piece of DNA is a gene and they pair up with your Moms and Dads and each gene pair gives a trait. For ex. if 1 of your parents had black hair and the other parent had brown hair, it will depend on who has the stronger genes so you will get there hair color more. It is important because its is how you will look in life and how people look at you.
